Shout Out

I recently met with a rep from a very upscale magazine here in Atlanta. She praised our company, and most importantly, she pointed out that my being the age of most of today's modern brides, From Face To Lace has an advantage. We encompass all things traditional, past and present, and all things modern, present and future. Our business thrives off of network contact and word of mouth. This is attained through related aspirations and circumstances that I, as well as my team, have experienced (countless times) with other brides.

In today's bustling world where, in my frank opinion, women and men go above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done, From Face To Lace's presence is so important. While you manage your busy life, we manage your perfect wedding. I know what it is like to get engaged, plan a wedding, manage the details, create a menu, turn in final papers, order invititations, get those phone calls from distant relatives that say, "We know you forgot to invite us, but don't worry. We'll be there," and work to maintain your romantic life/sanity all the while finishing college and gettting your degree/working fulltime/etc.

Having a planner to manage the perfection and the details is what makes all this so much easier. Relax- you're getting married. Give us the details-we love it!

From Face To Lace is inspired by the strong individuals that we come in contact with everyday. The working men and women, those in the military, the parents, the students--an eclectic mix that keeps our jobs fun and worthwhile.

Thank you, everyone, for choosing From Face To Lace!

The Economic Honeymoon

So many brides are looking for the perfect honeymoon spot. I get questions like, "Where do I go, and how can I pay for it?" almost daily. To answer their questions, and possibly yours, consider the following information.

First: Think about what you want to be doing on your honeymoon. It is a very important time for both you and your spouse. Consider both sides of the equation. Does he or she want to go here?

Second: Consider your budget. According to Clark Howard's website (I'm a huge fan of his travel deals), you can get a ticket through www.sitestep.com. Sitestep is basically a website developed to help you consider ALL of your flight and travel options when you're looking for that prefect vaca spot.

Third: What activities would your like to do?

Would you like a romantic eco-tiki hut in Costa Rica. Or how about the hideaway homes that are built far away from visitors in Bermuda. You can actually see the ocean from your bed through the glass-window added into your floor! According to Coastal Living Magazine, you can get this vey private (restaurant access) 1-bedroom, built on-the-water homes for: $490 per night! see 9beaches.com for the rooms starting at $280 per night. That way you are still on the water, but not ON the water.

Or would you prefer a more advernterous honeymoon? Perhaps you would enjoy a week in Italy site-seeing with your love, or traveling through the mountains of Switzerland? Packages like these are sold together including room and meal plans through travel agencies or cruise lines. Email me for specifics.

Wherever you want to go, and whatever you want to do, make sure you do your homework to get the best deals. If you are college students, consider travel agencies that hook you up with flight deals. The drawback to this, of course, are the nonrefundable deposits ($175-$200 Europe). If you work for a major corporation, check with your colleagues. See if your company has a preferred travel agent.

& remember: always, always, always buy travel insurance when you leave the country!

Good luck!

Twitter and Beach(ish) Weddings

Beach(ish) Weddings
This blog is for the brides & grooms that really wanted to get married on the beach, but chose instead a more economically convenient, "closer to home and land-locked" wedding. From Face To Lace Wedding Planners has given me the exciting job of bringing a beach wedding closer to home: Atlanta. Today I am designing Beach Themes (hence the orange font).

I love the ocean, so this task has brought out the bohemian beach girl in me. Let's say you don't want to spend thousands on flowers. A beach wedding theme is an excellent way to individualize your wedding while simultaneously reserving the green in your wallet.

Seashells and sand are a cheap and unique way to decorate you centerpieces. Now, this varies per couple. A million and one possibilities pop into my head of how to decorate for a beach wedding. In particular, think beach colors. Pastels contrasted against firey sunsets. You can even get creative about what type of material you use for your linen!

Organic and natural products such as sand, seashells and a few vibrant tropical flowers arranged together on a table work together to give that beach breeze feeling to both you and your guests.
