So many brides are looking for the perfect honeymoon spot. I get questions like, "Where do I go, and how can I pay for it?" almost daily. To answer their questions, and possibly yours, consider the following information.
First: Think about what you want to be doing on your honeymoon. It is a very important time for both you and your spouse. Consider both sides of the equation. Does he or she want to go here?
Second: Consider your budget. According to Clark Howard's website (I'm a huge fan of his travel deals), you can get a ticket through www.sitestep.com. Sitestep is basically a website developed to help you consider ALL of your flight and travel options when you're looking for that prefect vaca spot.
Third: What activities would your like to do?
Would you like a romantic eco-tiki hut in Costa Rica. Or how about the hideaway homes that are built far away from visitors in Bermuda. You can actually see the ocean from your bed through the glass-window added into your floor! According to Coastal Living Magazine, you can get this vey private (restaurant access) 1-bedroom, built on-the-water homes for: $490 per night! see 9beaches.com for the rooms starting at $280 per night. That way you are still on the water, but not ON the water.
Or would you prefer a more advernterous honeymoon? Perhaps you would enjoy a week in Italy site-seeing with your love, or traveling through the mountains of Switzerland? Packages like these are sold together including room and meal plans through travel agencies or cruise lines. Email me for specifics.
Wherever you want to go, and whatever you want to do, make sure you do your homework to get the best deals. If you are college students, consider travel agencies that hook you up with flight deals. The drawback to this, of course, are the nonrefundable deposits ($175-$200 Europe). If you work for a major corporation, check with your colleagues. See if your company has a preferred travel agent.
& remember: always, always, always buy travel insurance when you leave the country!
Good luck!
